Hi and thanks for stopping by. This lovely dresser is going to be posted over at Country Chic Paint’s Blog later this week! You have to check out this pretty awesome makeover…i’m in LOVE!
This super cute dresser I scored off of a local yard sale site and luckily she was in really good condition and needed no refinishing or restorations for its debut!
Aside from the hardware that needed some minor tweaking this gem had great bones and a great foundation! While part of our signature look is stained top pieces and while we typically sand down the tops of most of our restorations, this top was in tip, top shape! There were a few knicks and scratches but we were able to just clean her off really good and just applied Restor-A-Finish to the top. The restore polish, you can find in your local Home Depot or Lowe’s stores. We have the polish in our arsenal in about three different shades.
For your convenience we’ve attached a copy of the Restor-A-Finish can in case you ever want to try it out. Restor-A-Finish is a polish more or less that has a small amount of stain in the mixture in many different colors such as say, Oak, Mahogany etc. You can apply the polish directly on to your wood project pieces and polish out the scratches and blemishes in furniture and makes them look like new again.
We paired our gem with a large mirror and distressed the mirror to match the dresser in a distressed and gold accent metallic cream that is now being offered by Country Chic and overall, as you can see below, she turned out beautifully!
Below is a sample of the gold metallic cream we used on this project to accent the distressed look.
